Description
This is a full time MA position that will be done under the supervision of the Nurse Manager (RN) at the Center for Health and Wellness. Duties include abide by all federal, state, and local regulations regarding patient care; adhere to protocol established by CHW and its medical director; prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations; keeping the rooms neat and clean; interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight and height; clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies; show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician; follow doctor's orders for refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies; prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician; explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physicians' instructions to patients; help physicians examine and treat patients, handing them instruments and materials for performing such tasks as giving injections or removing sutures; and collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log them, and prepare them for testing.
